Chemical Damp Course Injection
This is the most commonly used method of treating rising damp. A water-repellent, pore-blocking material is pumped into the section of wall affected by the failure of the original damp proof course. Damp course injection can be a highly effective remedy for rising damp, but the success of treatment depends on the knowledge and skill of the person applying it and on the formulation of the products used.

Flooring Membrane or Liquid Damp Proof Membrane
Where your floors are affected by rising damp, we will either lay a flexible polymer flooring membrane over the damp area or apply a liquid floor coating. We favour the Oldroyd Xs flooring membrane, an especially strong polypropylene sheet which can even be used with underfloor heating systems. An excellent alternative is the ECS Epoxy floor coating manufactured by Safeguard: this is applied to your floor by brush or roller, and once dry gives a flexible, water- and bacteria-resistant coating which keeps the damp locked firmly below.

Specialist Plastering
Wherever your walls have been affected by damp, the final step in the curative process is plastering. Because moisture-attracting salts remain in the brickwork and masonry even after your damp problem has been treated, these need to be separated from the surface of the wall where you will later redecorate.
